Comb twists are created by twisting a single section of hair from root to tip. Just as there are a number of names for this style, there are equally as many ways to form the twists. Twists can be created by catching the hair at the root in the teeth of a rat tail comb and twirling until the hair is twisted to the end. Comb twists can be worn for several weeks, however, you must be careful that the hair does not begin to lock. If this does happen don’t worry, a good deep conditioning and de-tangling is all that’s needed to free your locks. The hair can be moisturized and even washed while in finger coils. Wash your coils using a stocking cap which protects the twists from unraveling while still letting shampoo and water get through to the hair. Use a moisturizer as needed.
